Welcome to the UFCW Local 496
***Reopening of Barbershops and Salons Guidelines*** |
 |
The time is coming to reopen your business! Please visit www.opensafely.la.gov to register your business to reopen. You must complete the registration and print a copy of your certificate to post in your shop before you can start conducting business.
This site allows you to register your business and your registration allows you to receive updated communication, notifications, and helpful guidance via email from the State Fire Marshal’s Office specific to your business type.
These notifications will answer the important questions:
• When can I partially or fully open my business?
• What are the steps to open my business?
• What changes can be expected for businesses that have been operating, but with restrictions?
• What restrictions are my business subject to, if any?
• Are there any new sanitation requirements for my business?
• Are there any personal protective requirements (masks, gloves, etc.) for my employees?
Barbershops and salons are included in Phase 1 of reopening and have a tentative reopen date of May 15. However, your Parish may extend the Stay Home order beyond the State’s opening date. In this case, you must follow your Parish’s reopening date orders.
The requirements and guidelines that you will receive supplement and do not replace any directives or guidance provided by the Louisiana Board of Barber Examiners or the Louisiana State Board of Cosmetology or other authorities having jurisdiction. Where conflicts occur, the stricter of the requirements will apply.
Sincerely,
UFCW Local 496 Executive Board
